Once the summer season turns around, it becomes imperative for some people to start cleaning their lawn furniture because it will be the season of outdoor barbecues and swimming. It is not the outdoor furniture that has to be kept up, actually, but also your lawn just to make sure that you are a step ahead of your neighborly competition. The first lesson that you have to learn about lawn furniture is that you have to keep them maintained all-year long in order to reduce the chores that you have to do in the summer. Sure, it might be more difficult if it's snowing in your place, but if it does not, then it's ideal to keep everything clean once every two weeks or so. Fortunately for our time, there are already specific products for specific materials. No need to wash everything with soap and water because there are products out there in the market tailor-made for your furniture. For example, if your furniture is vinyl, there are vinyl creams that you can purchase to clean up. Same case for wood (why use wood for lawn furniture in the first place) or metal. The need to emphasize regular cleanup is more pronounced in the case of iron furniture, which can form rust any minute. This is especially true for houses near the beach because beach-side iron furniture are more prone to rusting. When you already see a spot of rust forming, better sand it off already. Worst case scenario is you will have to repaint everything to remove the rust. There are sometimes cases when there's cloth out there in the lawn. These fabrics are prone to mildew because they are exposed outside. Never keep them inside in this state and never when they are still wet. Bleach the fabrics to remove the mildew before putting it inside. The summer season may still be too far off, but it helps if you can already make the necessary preparations this early.
