The Furniture Machine Energy Display - Furniture of the Future

Energy display is more like a house appliance rather than a home furniture, but tech experts say it could just well become part of the fix home furniture for the home of the future, something that is as essential in a home as a water supply.
And at CES 2011, there were quite a number of good concepts and products introduced for more efficient use of energy displays. The most interesting is of course from energy powerhouse, General Electric.
For GE, the energy business is starting to become digital, and they want to make sure they have the first aggressive jump to that side of the business.
Their CES booth features different smart home energy products, most of which are connected to one another through a special home information network or via the internet.
GE products mostly use Zigbee to analyze and communicate with a smart meter. GE also unveiled the Nucleus, a small device which can act as a networking hub for connected devices. Nucleus will be made available to consumers at the third quarter of 2011.
Energy displays at GE's CES booth has generic features but with an added touch of technology. They display energy usage, the trend of energy use, setting up energy target usage and notifying the owner if the usage goes out of the target.
It also advices owners when to and when not to use a certain appliance. There are times when a certain appliance is rated at higher pay when used at a certain time, and this is smartly detected by energy displays.
