The Furniture MachineThe Largest Chinese Interior Design Fair at the Interior Lifestyle China 2011
The Chinese are well-known for being conservative about their home furnishings. Most of these home furnishings should follow traditional Chinese designs that they do not replace that easily. Feng shui also takes a central role in determining the general layout of the furniture, which can significantly limit the choices. However, with many Chinese getting more and more affluent by the day due to the Chinese economic boom, choices are getting more varied, consumers are becoming more open to the idea of using Western-style furniture, and they become more willing to spend even more money on lavish decorations. Between October 12 and 15, the largest interior design fair of its kind will be held in Shanghai at the Interior Lifestyle China 2011. More 250 exhibitors are expected to be present in this annual event, while about 15,000 buyers are anticipated to attend during the 4-day fair. The exhibitors are expected to be mostly foreign, leaving the impression of the Chinese interior decor market already opening to the world. The exhibitors include trading houses, importers, exporters, department stores, and retailers. Just about everything that you can imagine will be up for sale in the event--furniture, kitchenware, cutlery, electric appliances, machines for home use, and small electric appliances, arts and crafts, fragrances, lighting accessories, and so much more. Aside from the exhibitions, there will be also a number of special events taking place throughout the fair. Some of these are the 4th China Houseware Market Developing Conference, German Cuisine Feast, and an exposition on using bamboo as a home decoration. From October 12 to 14 the fair will be opened only to trade visitors, with the last day of the fair open to the public. It will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. A fee of 50 RMB will be charged per person and reservations have to be made during the first 3 days. You can talk about...
