The Furniture MachineBasics of Removing Carpet Stains
Stains on the carpet are one of the most undesirable stain marks that any homeowner would like to have. This is especially true when the stains are found later on in the day, when they have most likely dried up already. Good thing there's already an abundance of stain cleaners available in the market today, and we'll give you some general tips on cleaning the carpet stains.
The essential thing to note when cleaning carpet stains is that you should remove it as immediately as possible. When the stain is still wet, it is still east to wash this off with some warm water. This is because most carpets today have already been treated with stain-resistant formulation, making it easier for the stain to come off. What is sad is that there's no way (yet) to make your carpet look as good as new again when there's stain. You can definitely improve on the situation, but making it look new again is just not possible. Professional stain cleaners will immediately tell you this. While there are chemical-based carpet cleaners out there, they are bound to damage your carpet in one way or another because of their components. These stains are also specialized for certain types of stains, so better look for the label. As a general rule, for liquid stains, you don't rub the stains in, because this will just make the blot stains permanent all the more. Instead use white cotton cloth or paper towels. Use these to remove as much liquid as possible and rinse the blot with warm water. Do this over and over again until you're satisfied with the appearance of the blot. For semi-liquids like peanut butter, try to scrape as much stain as possible with a spoon and do the same rinsing. For solids, you don't have to rinse anything so long you have a vacuum cleaner to take off the stain. Remember to break the solid stains into pieces first, though. Using special cleaners is a different matter. Please refer to the instructions printed at the back of your special cleaner to find out how they work. Personally, I would really prefer to do away with these cleaners, though. I just don't like so many chemicals in our home. You can talk about...
